Scholarships

The application period for the next school year opens in early November and closes on February 15 for first-time, incoming freshmen and February 15 for all students.

If you miss the deadline, you cannot be considered for any awards. There are no individual exceptions!

For example: If you will be a continuing or transferring student in Fall 2018 and want to apply for Fall 2018/Spring 2019 scholarship aid, you must complete an application between early November and February 15, 2018.

Prepare to complete the application.

The COB faculty committees that award all scholarships read your application and support materials very carefully. It's very important that your application be complete and mistake-free, with all required support materials (e.g., recommendation letters) submitted. For all scholarships, things like GPA are important, but often decisions between qualified applicants with similar GPAs are made based on goals, essays, and recommendation letters.

Complete An Application!

Complete an NKU scholarship application. There are separate applications for first-time, incoming freshmen and continuing or transfer students. This is the only application you need to complete – you will be considered for all COB scholarships that you are eligible for.

You must submit at least one Letter of Recommendation. Some COB scholarships require two and some require that a letter from a professor in your major be provided. A good strategy to cover all your bases is to provide two letters, one from a professor in your major and the other from a person of your choice. These letters are very important! The award committees read and discuss them very thoroughly. Give some careful thought to who you will ask to write for you and make sure that you allow plenty of lead time (at least two or three weeks) for the letter to be completed.
