NKU 2021 CARES Awards

The NKU CARES Awards will recognize faculty and staff who made extraordinary contributions to student, faculty, and staff success during the COVID-19 pandemic. The recipients of each $1,500 award can choose to accept the award as a stipend or for professional development. Recipients will be recognized at the President’s 2021 Fall Convocation.

Nominations may be submitted by anyone in the Qualtrics form below. Instructions will then be sent to the nominee and the nominator indicating how to submit their materials. These will include a nomination letter, a letter from a supervisor, and a letter from a colleague or student.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 16th by 4:30 pm and the deadline for all materials to be submitted is Friday, April 23rd by 4:30 pm. Inquiries can be sent to Jason Vest at vestj3@nku.edu or Beverly Breeze at breezeb2@nku.edu.

The NKU Staff CARES Award

Description: The NKU Staff Cares Award is designed to recognize two staff members who made extraordinary contributions to the university during the COVID-19 pandemic, which may include services and support to students, faculty, and other staff. Award amount: $1,500

Requirements: Successful nominee must be a current employee and have two years of continuous service at Northern Kentucky University by August 16, 2021. Full-time and part-time staff are eligible.

The NKU Faculty CARES Award

Description: The NKU Faculty Cares Award is designed to recognize two faculty members who made extraordinary contributions to the university during the COVID-19 pandemic. Qualifying faculty work may include innovations in teaching and learning; curriculum development and delivery; student mentoring; service to the department, university, or committee; or other efforts that contributed to the success of their students or colleagues. Award amount: $1,500

Requirements: Successful nominee must be a current employee and have two years of continuous service at Northern Kentucky University by August 16, 2021. Full-time and part-time faculty are eligible.
