The purpose of Women's Equality Day is to recognize and honor women who have been politically active, to register students to vote and to introduce the Women's Center to the University community.
Women's Equality Day is on August 26th; it celebrates the
ratification of the19th amendment, which gave women the right to
vote. Today it is recognized as a day to promote political activism.

Every year the League of Women Voters sponsors activities for Women's Equality Day.
