Our Academic Year Production ProgramThe production program of the NKU Department of Theatre is an important part of the students' training. Productions are a laboratory in which the theory and technique learned in classes is applied and tested in rehearsal and performance. It is also an important service to the University and tri-state communities as we seek to share the excitement of live theatre with our audiences. During the Fall and Spring semesters, the department mounts six to eight productions in the NKU Corbett Theatre and the Black Box Theatre. Shows presented range from classics of dramatic literature to contemporary comedy, drama, and musicals. Auditions are open to any NKU students and are generally held the first week of each semester. Ticket information can be obtained by calling our box office at (859) 572-5464.
NKU Summer Dinner TheatreEach summer, the Northern Kentucky University Department of Theatre produces two shows in a professional summer dinner theatre. These productions, made up of two musicals and one comedy, are directed and designed by faculty members and employ both professionals and students of the University, giving them a taste of how a professional summer stock company operates. Students who participate are also eligible for college credit for their work during the summer season. For information, call (859) 572-5464.
