Created for the student interested in technology rather than design studies, this area allows students to learn a variety of standard construction techniques, and affords the opportunity to demonstrate these in the fabrication of scenery used in NKU productions. Students studying technology obtain woodworking, welding, and painting skills and learn how to apply them in a theatrical setting. Advanced students are assigned projects, that require engineering special effects, building complex scenic units, experimenting with new materials, rigging scenery and researching advanced construction techniques or serving as the technical director for NKU productions.
