Anita Zike Adkins, M.S.W.

Anita Zike Adkins has been a Support Specialist in student support services (SSS) since March 2002.  As a first generation college student herself, Anita earned her bachelor's degree in social work from Northern Kentucky University in 1999, along with an associate's degree in mental health. She earned her master's degree in Social Work, clinical counseling from the University of Kentucky in 2005. In addition to her current SSS responsibilities, Anita teaches UNV 101 through First Year Programs, is a trained Master Advisor, and advises undeclared students within SSS.  Within the NKU community, Anita presents Success Skills workshops through Norse Kids/NKU Connections and serves as a guest presenter with Social Work, Education, and UNV 101 classes upon request.

Anita is a SSS alum and very proud of the time spent here at Northern, both as a student and alumnus. Prior to coming to NKU, Anita worked with children and families in the Tri-State community, serving children in need. A mother of three college students and a grandmother of two, Anita loves spending time with her family, reading, creating crafts and just hanging out with friends.
