"ZOOLOGY FOR TEACHERS"
WEB-BASED HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS
(20 points)

During the semester, each student will turn-in (via e-mail) three homework assignments describing internet sites suitable for use in their classroom.  Submit one homework assignment for three of the animal groups (classes) listed below.

Each homework assignment should:
    1.  focus on one of the groups of organisms addressed in class:
            a) mammals        b) birds        c) herptiles  (reptiles and amphibians)        d) insects        e) freshwater invertebrates

    2.  detail two different web sites:
            a) one web site that provides biology content useful for the classroom
            b) one web site that provides information for developing an educational activity (that includes at least some aspect of biology) appropriate for your class.

    3.  include a written evaluation and application of the material in the web site (see details below).
 

Save the document as a Microsoft Word file or an RTF file.  E-mail the document as an attachment to Dr. Sproat.
 

Due dates:
    All three papers must be e-mailed to Dr. Sproat before 9:00 am on Monday June 30th.
 
 

The following criteria will be used to evaluate each assignment:

Biological Content Site (10 pts)

        b. Core content areas served by this site's information.
