These open response prompts, rubrics and solutions were developed
by teachers enrolled in a 1998 Institute on Coordinating Geometry
Concepts across Grades Four through High School, funded by the
Dwight D. Eisenhower Mathematics and Science Education Act through
the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
We think these ideas are valuable for sharing with other teachers.
Due to time constraints, the teachers did not have the opportunity
to field test these questions before submitting them for this
booklet. Therefore, if you use these with your own students, you
will undoubtedly find you wish to make some changes to fit the
needs of your own classroom. Please feel free to use these in
any way that you see fit.
All ideas and opinions expressed in this document are those of
the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the instructors
in this course, the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education
or the Dwight D. Eisenhower Mathematics and Science Education
Program.
