For your presentation, you need to include the following on a two- to four-page handout for each person in the class. The presentation and handout should include:

  • An overview of the type of assessment. For test, scales, or inventories, this should include information on reliability, validity, cost, ease of administration and scoring, and use of the results. For competitions, this should include information about time involved, eligibility of students and coaches, and type of competition (individual, team, written, verbal, one-time or on-going, etc).
  • A critique of how the assessment correlates with the Kentucky Program of Studies and Core Content for Assessment.
  • One or more sample problems or questions from the assessment. This should actively involve the class in the solving and scoring of the items. (Be sure to respect copyright laws on the items used.)
  • Student work on one or more of the problems or questions from the assessment. This might be work on the same problems presented to our class. (Be sure to get permission to share student work and do not use students names on this.)
  • A reference list including print and electronic resources given in APA format. The ERIC Clearinghouse for Assessment, Evaluation, and Research Information should be a useful starting point (http://www.ericae.net).

You should plan your presentation for no longer than 15 - 20 minutes. Be sure to include at least one appropriate use of technology in your presentation.
