Mission Statement

As the Student Government Association of Northern Kentucky University, we strive to fulfill our sworn duties to serve the student body by addressing its concerns, needs, and rights. While leading on a positive platform that is open, ethical and supportive, we place the student body's well being above all.

The Student Government Association is accepting applications for the annual Scott Wurster Book Grants.  Applications are due to the Dean of Students office by January 10, 2012 at 4:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact Student Government at sga@nku.edu.

Student Government Association 2010-2011 Goals

1. More perks for NKU students on campus and in the community.
2. Increase on-campus student employment.
3. Continue to advocate stable funding for the Campus Recreation Center.
4. Increase SGA awareness and visibility through outreach.
5. Develop student civic engagement intitiatives.
6. Continue the Go Green intiative across campus.

2009-2010 Student Government Association Accomplishments

• Student body approved a new SGA Consitution.  The Board of Regents approved the new constitution in November 2009.
• SGA secured the full amount of funding requested for improvements at the Campus Recreation Center.
• SGA awarded the Scott Wurster Book Grant as well as the Anne Braden Memorial Scholarships.  Funding for the Anne Braden Scholarship was also increased to provide two individual awards.
