1. What does MWM observe about the places she visits? How do these places compare with England? With one another?
2. What details, in particular, impress her?
3. What do MWM's letters reveal about travel conditions at the time she writes?
4. What comparisons does MWM make between the lives of women in England and those of other countries?
5. MWM made "copies" of all her letters as she intended to publish them later, although in keeping with 18th century publishing conventions, she edited the published versions. What effect might this have had on the details she chose to write about? (The textual notes can be helpful here.)
