Summer Undergraduate Research/Creativity Fellowship (SURF)

This fellowship competition is intended to encourage and support undergraduate students during the summer of 2011 to undertake intensive research and creative projects that will contribute new insight in the student's chosen academic field.  This fellowship is  available to students in the following departments: Accountancy, Art, Business Informatics, Communication, Construction Management, Counseling Human Services & Social Work, Economics & Finance, Entrepreneurship Institute, History & Geography, Kinesiology Health & Educational Foundations, Literature & Language, Management, Marketing, Music, Nursing & Health Professions, Political Science & Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology Anthropology & Philosophy, Teacher Education & School Leadership,  and Theater & Dance.

Please note that students must complete project before they graduate.  Students planning on to graduate in May will not qualify for this fellowship. This fellowship is administered through the Office of Research, Grants and Contracts.

    Please fill in the budget form online.  Then print the form to place in your proposal.

Important Dates:

  • Deadline for Submission for Spring Semester: March 19, 2012
    Notification of Award: April 23, 2012
  • Final Report Due: One month after project completion and no later than October 1, 2012
