Perilou Goddard, Professor and Chairperson, earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Indiana University in 1987 and completed a post-doctoral research fellowship at Brown University in 1989. Dr. Goddard teaches courses in abnormal psychology, psychotherapy approaches, addictive behaviors, and writing in psychology. Her research interests include (a) the impact of science training on high school psychology courses; (b) the relationships among stress, coping, drug/alcohol use, and academic achievement; and (c) the impact of professional education about harm reduction approaches to drug/alcohol misuse.

Bill Attenweiler, Assistant Professor, earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Clemson University in 2002. His teaching interests include Quantitative and I-O Psychology. Mark E. Bardgett, Professor, received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 1991 and completed post-doctoral research in neuropharmacology at the Washington University School of Medicine in 1994. His teaching interests center on courses such as biopsychology and psychopharmacology. His research interests focus on psychopharmacology, behavioral neuroscience, and the behavioral consequences of altered gene expression in laboratory mice.

Robin M. Bartlett, Associate Professor, earned her Ph.D. in life-span developmental psychology in 2000 from West Virginia University. Dr. Bartlett teaches courses in developmental psychology including child and life-span development. Her research interests are in the areas of child socio-emotional development (e.g., children and families) and law and psychology (e.g., factors influencing children's eyewitness memory).

Carole Beere, Professor, earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology in 1971 from Michigan State University. She taught psychology of women, psychological statistics, and psychological testing for 19 years at Central Michigan University before going into higher ed administration. During her teaching years, she authored three reference books on the measures used in gender-related research. She currently serves as Associate Provost for Outreach and Dean of Graduate Studies.

Paul Bishop, Associate Professor, obtained his Ph.D. in 1972 fom Ohio University in clinical psychology. Dr. Bishop teaches courses in abnormal psychology, human sexuality, and psychological testing. He conducts research in the area of human sexuality and maintains a part-time clinical practice.

Kim Breitenbecher, Assistant Professor, earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Ohio University in 1995. Dr Breitenbecher teaches courses in clinical psychology, including abnormal psychology and personality psychology. Her research interests are in the area of sexual assault, specifically sexual assault prevention and the revictimization of assault survivors.

Mei Mei Burr, Assistant Chair, earned her Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Cincinnati in 1994. Dr. Burr worked as a school psychologist for five years before deciding to teach at the college level. Dr. Burr oversees the advising in the department and meets with transfer students and majors over 30 hours. In 2005, she won the university's Outstanding Academic Advisor Award. In addition to advising, she teaches Introduction to Psychology and Behavior Modification.

Kevin Corcoran, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1984. Throughout his career his work has focused on choice behaviors, especially those which involve addictive behaviors. He has served as the Dean of Arts and Sciences and Professor of Psychology at Northern Kentucky University since June 1, 2006. Prior to his arrival at NKU, he was Head of the Department of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati from 1999-2006, where he was also Professor of Psychology.

Kathleen Fuegen, Assistant Professor, earned her Ph.D. in social psychology in 2002 from the University of Kansas. Her teaching interests include industrial-organizational psychology, social psychology, attitudes, and stereotyping and prejudice. Her research interests include stereotyping, selection and performance appraisal, and work-family balance.

Professor and former Chairperson; received his Ph.D. in experimental psychology in 1973 from Southern Illinois University. Dr. Goedel teaches courses in biopsychology, consumer psychology, cognitive psychology, and experimental methods. He conducts research in the area of human learning and memory and the use of microcomputers in teaching and research.

Heather Park Hatchett is a lecturer/advisor/freshman specialist. She graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2000 with a degree in clinical psychology. Dr. Hatchett teaches introduction to psychology as well as personality psychology. Her main research interest is men's underutilization of mental health services. Dr. Hatchett's secondary research interest is personality trait models and the relationbship between traits and attitudes towards psychotherapy.

Associate Professor, obtained his Ph.D. in 1979 from the University of Kentucky in experimental psychology. Dr. Hogan teaches courses in the psychology of learning, comparative psychology, and experimental methods. He maintains an active research program studying classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and problem solving in animals.

His research interests include social inference, attribution, cross-cultural differences and similarities in judgment processes, and stereotyping.

Dr. Thomas teaches courses in child, adult, and lifespan development as well as the department's required course in Career Planning for Psychology Majors. His research in the area of applied developmental psychology focuses on the development of vocational identity in college students.
