Student Organizations

The Political Science & Criminal Justice Department sponsors student organizations that are affiliated with different programs of study.

Xi Omega 

Xi Omega is the local chapter of the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society. It is open to political science or international studies majors and minors who meet the following requirements:

  • Maintain a 3.25 GPA or higher in political science or international studies courses;
  • Complete 10 credit hours of political science coursework;
  • Maintain an overall GPA of 3.00.

Zeta Pi Gamma

Zeta Pi Gamma is the local chapter of the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society. It is open to majors and minors who are recommended by the chapter advisor and meet the following requirements:

  • Completed one-third of the total hours required for graduation;
  • Maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA overall and 3.2 GPA in criminal justice courses;
  • Graduate students are required to maintain a minimum 3.4 GPA overall and in criminal justice courses;
  • Students enrolled in law school must complete one academic year with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Public Administration Student Society

Public Administration Student Society is an organization created to enhance the Master in Public Administration student experience as well as represent the graduate program.

PASS is open to any MPA student in good standing. Meetings are scheduled each month for approximately 30 minutes. The society provides opportunities for networking and serves as an excellent resume builder. Members participate in community service projects and schedule guest lectures on topics of interest to MPA students.

The current PASS president is Justin Otto (ottoj1@nku.edu). The organization is also listed on the NKU Student Life website.

Phi Alpha Delta

Phi Alpha Delta is an international law fraternity that offers a special program to serve pre-law students. Application information is available through the www.padcommunity.org/ website.
