Perspectives in History
Table of Contents, Past Volumes.
Perspectives in History, the scholarly journal of Alpha Beta Phi Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, began publication during the first year of the Chapter at Northern Kentucky University in the fall of 1985. From 1985 through 1991, Volumes 1-6, each volume had two issues for the year. Beginning with Volume 7 (1991-1992), the journal has been published in one issue per year. The purpose of the journal is to further the goal of Phi Alpha Theta in promoting the study of history. The editors are undergraduate students elected by the members of the Chapter once per year during the annual election of officers. A majority of the papers published are the research of presently matriculating or recently graduated undergraduate students. The student editors and the Faculty Advisor request submissions and select book reviews, essays, and research papers for publication based on scholarly merit and overall literary merit. In national Phi Alpha Theta competition, Perspectives in History won the Gerald D. Nash Student History Journal Award 1995, 1998, and 2000, and runner-up 1996, 1999, and 2001. |
