Using the NKU Book Connection in a Writing Course

The Book Connection gives all first-year students a common reading experience. The selection for Fall 2006 is Restavec by Jean-Robert Cadet. This book can be used as a reader for first-year writing courses.

Information and assignment ideas for using this book in writing courses are available in the writing program director's office.

Art/Writing Contest

Every first-year student is invited to create a work of visual art, a piece of creative writing, or an essay in response to Jean-Robert Cadet's Restavec.

A work of visual art can be in any medium, such as painting, sculpture, or electronic art. A piece of creative writing can be poetry, fiction, or drama. An essay can be descriptive, narrative, informative, or persuasive. A work of art must be accompanied by an artist's statement.
