Education Issues
(weekly television program)
"Education Issues," a half-hour, weekly, public affairs program airing throughout Northern Kentucky on Insight Cable Channel 6, is hosted by University/School Partnerships Director Jon Draud. Although it frequently showcases NKU faculty and programs, it is not limited to NKU and covers the gamut of educational concerns from preschool through post-graduate study. It features interviews with local teachers, students, and government officials about all aspects of education from new programs of study to school funding.
America Reads America Counts (click below for a pdf poster)
"America Reads America Counts" is a nationwide tutoring program designed to benefit both college students and younger students. In Northern Kentucky, the Office of University/School Partnerships matches elementary and middle school students who need extra help in school with NKU students who are willing and able to tutor them in reading and math. Both groups of students improve their academic skills, and the college students have the added benefit of a part-time, work-study job.

NKU's Office for University/School Partnerships facilitates collaborative projects in which faculty, administrators, and students from local elementary and secondary schools work with the students and education faculty of Northern Kentucky University on a variety of classroom-based and extra-curricular projects that enhance P-16 education for the entire region.
In addition to coordinating these activities and encouraging positive working relationships between local schools and the university, University/School Partnerships Director Dr. Jon Draud serves as a consultant, information resource, and sounding board for educators from the region's numerous school districts and functions as a liaison for community groups interested in education.
