Many
of you may know about the efforts of the NKU Nurse Advocacy Center for the
Underserved to provide nursing care in three Northern Kentucky shelters:
Women's Crisis Center, Welcome House, and Women's Residential Addiction
Program (WRAP). BSN prepared nurses triage health care needs, make referrals
and provide health education.
To
keep the project's budget low, we are in the process of moving to a volunteer
model. We are looking for BSN prepared nurses licensed in Kentucky, who are willing
to volunteer 3 or 4 hours a month at WRAP or the Welcome House. An orientation
to the project and to the shelter is provided.
Please
consider volunteering as a community service, scholarly activity, or just out
of the kindness of your heart.
