Our faculty includes 57 teachers and artists from six different countries, all of whom bring a rare combination of professional expertise and pedagogical excellence to the studio and the classroom. They hold degrees from the most prestigious and well-respected universities and conservatories in the world, and are the recipients of many competition prizes and music awards. Students benefit from this team of teachers who remain closely connected with the professional music scene nationally and internationally. The majority of our adjunct faculty are full-time professional musicians; many are regulars with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

Assistant Professor of Music Education
POSITION: The Department of Music at Northern Kentucky University announces a full-time, tenure-track position in the field of music education beginning August, 2012. Candidates with an instrumental music education background preferred, but will consider exceptional candidates with specializations in the vocal/choral or general music areas.
DUTIES: Responsible for coordinating and providing leadership over the department’s music education program and its curriculum, teaching classes in elementary and secondary methods, advising and supervising undergraduate music education students, and fostering positive relationships with public schoolmusic educators and their programs. Other duties will depend on the candidate's qualifications and departmental needs.
REQUIREMENTS: Doctoral degree in the field of music education at the time of appointment; evidence of successful teaching experience in the public schools; a record of commitment to undergraduate teacher preparation, and a proven ability to establish and foster partnerships with K-12 music programs.

DEPARTMENT: The department offers the B.M in Performance and Music Education, the B.A. in Music, and a Certificate in Piano Pedagogy. There are 16 full-time and 35 part time faculty serving approximately 180 music majors. The department is a fully accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
