David Dunevant has been an active member of Northern Kentucky University's faculty since 1984. As a performer, he has served as principal trombonist of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, the Middletown Symphony, the Hamilton Symphony, and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. He is also active in brass chamber music as a long-time member of the NKU Faculty Brass Quintet.
In 1990, Professor Dunevant received the Outstanding Junior Faculty Award in the College of Arts and Sciences. He was named College Teacher of the Year by the Kentucky Music Educators Association and in 1995 was selected by the Who's Who Among America's Teachers. He is a member of the International Trombone Association, the Kentucky Music Educators Association, the Music Educators National Conference, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
