Minor in Management:
 

A subset of 21 semester hours from the major comprises the Management Minor.  The required courses in the minor focus primarily on the behavioral aspects of management, i.e., the study of why people behave the way they do in work organizations and how managers can behave to effectively influence others and achieve organizational goals.  Two elective courses in the minor allow students to explore areas of individual interest.

Required Courses:
SPE 220   Interpersonal Communications
MGT 205  Introduction to Business and Management
BAD 305  Behavior in Organizations
MGT 310  Managerial Behavior
MGT 340  Human Resources Administration

Six hours of elective courses chosen from the following:

MGT or ENTP (300 level or above)  

 

Minor in Marketing:

The minor in marketing consists of 21 semester hours (9 required, 12 elective).  The required courses provide a general introduction to business organizations and their management (MGT 205), an overview of the Marketing function (MKT 305), and exposure to the scientific study of buyer behavior (MKT 320).  Elective courses allow students to pursue their own particular interests within the discipline.

MKT 305  Principles of Marketing
MKT 320  Consumer Behavior

** In addition to the above courses, students must complete twelve hours of Marketing (MKT) elective courses
