Professional Interest
Teaching: I am very interested in techniques for enhancing the problem solving abilities of students, especially in a setting that could accurately be described as mathematical analysis.

Scholarly: I am interested in developing an array of techniques for conjecturing and proving analytic inequalities. I am in the process of organizing an extensive collection of my proofs of inequalities, according to common themes, such as "method of proof".

Service: I have served for many years on the Faculty Senate, and have made significant contributions on issues including the post-tenure review of faculty, the assessment of teaching effectiveness, and the development of an on-line student evaluation system.

Outreach: I am interested in building the mathematics community of our region by encouraging participation in mathematics contests such as the Math Counts, The John Bryan Contest, and the national MAA high school contest. I am also interested in enhancing the role of the AP calculus program in our local high schools.
