The mission of the Department of Mathematics at Northern Kentucky University is to graduate professionals who are excellent problem solvers.

Students develop skills and intuition in analysis and design, and learn to mix the systematic with the creative as they reflect and act on the world around them.

The undergraduate major in mathematics allows students to specialize in pure mathematics, classical applied mathematics, computational mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics.

Although students work intensively with the latest innovations, their education here transcends mere training in existing techniques and technologies. They develop a critical intuition and informed intelligence that will allow them to help shape the future.
