Why should you care? People will be talking about this electrifying pilot! Although it reportedly took them three tries to get it right, NBC turned out a product that, while flawed, is one of the most interesting pure action series since Alias. Katee Sackhoff rocks her role (as one nasty nemesis) in so many ways!
Why should you worry? It did take considerable retooling to get the pilot right... and some of the supporting characters are a little dull or on the cliched side (did they really need a deaf sister?). Also, for all of the buzz this show will get because of its remake status, a lot of people will also roll their eyes and ask if it needed to be redone.
Bottom line? Critics may scoff, but the pilot is thoroughly entertaining and if NBC can keep the action going and the intrigue mounting, then they very well could have a hit on their hands. Plus, Heroes has carved the space for NBC to become the new cool-nerd network. The buzz around this show may be quite negative at this point, but be prepared to be surprised at how good this one turned out!
