Research Projects
- Hispanic Health Survey of Greater Cincinnati. This was the region's first comprehensive survey of the health care access and needs for the Latino community. Read the results of the survey in English or Spanish (PDF 1.2MB)
- Mental Health Needs of New Immigrants. This report details the types of mental health needs and access anticipated within the Latino community in the next five to ten years.
P-12 Education and Beyond
- The Latino Pathways Conference: Higher Education for Hispanic students. This conference joined post-secondary educators with community leaders to discuss ways to increase the success of Hispanic students in graduating from High School and excelling in College.
- Supporting the NKU Exchange program for Mexican students to experience the United States. Mexican students visited NKU and assisted Centro de Amistad and Su Casa in painting their facilities.
- Hispanic Scholarship Fund Town Hall Meeting: The LMC hosted Hispanic Scholarship Fund staff from California to hold a town hall meeting with high school students on NKU's campus.
- Translation/Interpretation between parents and teachers in Boone County Schools. NKU students are enjoying assisting Boone County parents to be involved in their child's education through translating documents and making phone calls to parents.
- “Build It, Trust It, Use It” Computer Literacy Project: 30 Hispanic families are building their own computer and learning about computer and Internet use and safety while exploring careers in information technology and computer sciences.
- Outreach efforts on behalf of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund LMC staff are meeting with school counselors and high school students to promote interest and understanding of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. Hispanic Scholarships are the key to helping Latino students succeed in college and join our local work force.
- Latinos Pa'lante: LMC staff are partnering Hispanic community leaders with high school students to give students an understanding of the wide array of job opportunities in our region.
