The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (NURFC), NKU Literature and Language Dept., NKU Institute for Freedom Studies (IFS), NKU Study Abroad Program, NKU Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement (SHCCE), NKU African American Students Affairs (AASA), NKU University Housing, NKU Student Retention &  Assessment (SRA), and NKU Latino Student Affairs (LSA) have formed an Alternative Spring program partnership. 

In the spring of 2005, with the valuable assistance of the University of North Texas and the above entities we developed a technology center in Mazamitla.  This center is intended to provide residents with opportunities to engage in web-based and on-line learning and with a tool to communicate with family members in the United States.
