I wish to thank everyone that attended my class
Technology Hands On: Managing Video Clips and Building DVD’s for the 2008 Nation Math Recovery conference.
Here are a few key notes to remember when managing video clips:

After filming your movie, save it to your computer first instead of directly to DVD. This will save you a lot of time later if you wish to edit your movie.

Most computer programs cannot directly edit a movie that is in DVD format, it must first be converted to a format such as .avi that the programs can understand. Yes, I know your computer can play DVDs but it works a little different when you want to edit a movie. I use MOVAVI

Once you have your video in .avi format, you can use Windows Movie Maker or Camtasia or any number of programs to edit your movie. Windows Movie Maker comes free with Microsoft Windows and can perform a lot of the basic functions most of you would need for simple editing.
Feel free to ask questions and post any of your success stories here.
