I am frustrated because many of my students are doing a fantastic job with math skills in our small lab group, but when I hear reports from their classroom teachers or see work that they have completed independently, they aren't transferring those skills. Suggestions? I don't know if I'm fooling myself or they're fooling me when they demonstrate fluency and understanding in my classroom or if the change of environment and student to teacher ratio is the culprit. I have talked with my students about it, but it still doesn't seem to do much good. Are others struggling with this?
