Privacy Issues
in the
Workplace

Privacy is a complex isssue for both employees and employers.  The United States government has helped in the crusade for confidentiality of employees' personal information.  This issue will never be resolved because the bounds of confidentiality are too great.  Some of the major issues with which employers must be concerned include the interviewing process, personal factors that can lead to discrimination, and employee monitoring.  Although employees have the right to keep age, smoking preference, and drug use private, employers have the right to require certain testing and monitoring in the workplace.
