Sources of Plagiarism

As long as homework has been around plagiarism has followed.  In past years it has been more common for students to copy out of books; recently internet plagiarizing has really taken off.  The internet has easy access to term papers, notes, and other forms of information that students can use.  The problem isn't that students are using the information, but not crediting the sources that they use, which is plagiarism.  This form of plagiarism has been causing problems for college instructors across the United States.  It is very easy to find sources of plagiarism.

As easy as it is to find, it is also easy to detect.  When instructors sense that a student has plagiarized, all they have to do is go to a web site that has state-of-the-art search engines to find out if the students work is actually theirs.  These web sites have detected many plagiarized papers for instructors.
