This website is specifically designed for people searching for jobs or employers trying to fill positions within their company. It is an easy and convenient way to stay connected to employers searching for career minded individuals to fill top-level positions. It provides continuous, updated access to various employers. It is easy to navigate in this site. To find a position in Human Resource Management, there is a specific section called Career Center, which has automatic links to various career opportunities, including Human Resource Management. Clicking on the HR link will take you to an area that will allow you to choose what section of the country you are interested in pursuing an opportunity. Click on the city and state and all jobs pertaining to Human Resources will pop up for that area. It will include the date each job was posted, a small description of the position, and the employer’s name to the far right of the page. Click on the position of interest and it will give a full description of that position, including specific job duties and qualifications needed. In most cases, it will list an e-mail address of the company representative to send your resume via e-mail. Below are some of the other features of the website: · My Monster, which
is resume management, a personal job search agent.
This website contains the latest information on jobs available and online resumes. The US Department of Labor maintains the site and the state operated public Employment Services. This is a “no-nonsense” website that deals primarily with jobs available throughout the United States. The site is very easy to navigate. Tabs in the middle of the page arrange it. The topics are broken out into four categories: Occupation, Keyword, Military Code, and Job Number. Occupation lists jobs by job title and zip code. Once the job title is determined, enter the zip code of the location of interest (a zip code locator button is available if needed). Click on “Search Now” and the results are listed in order with valuable information about each job such as job title, location, salary, education, and experience needed. At the left of the job title is a magnifying glass icon, which can be clicked to view a description of the job, benefits, and the company offering the job. The Keyword locator allows the individual to enter certain words (keywords) that are of interest to the job seeker along with the zip code. The same format as in the occupation search then appears. If an individual already knows the job code from a previous search he or she can use the “Job Number” (each job listing is given a number) search to go directly to the job listing. This site also offers links to state
sites. By using the drop down menu an individual can select a state.
A second window will open with the link to the selected state. The
format for the state sites differs from state to state.
