HAZING IN THE MILITARY

Military hazing is classified.  There is very little known about the amount and the extent of hazing within our armed forces.  Much of military hazing is rooted in traditions and ceremonies; while others are performed in an instructional or educational manner that stresses discipline.  However, some stories have surfaced which has brought military hazing to the public eye that concerned many civilians and threatened the reputation of the U.S. armed forces.  Such as the video of brutal “blood pinning” by Marines, or the more extreme and disturbing instances of hazing and harassment at the Citadel.  Therefore, the military has very strict policies, procedures and consequences for hazing within their branches.  Below to the left are some links concerning military hazing information, policy and stories.
