This website is helpful to people who are looking for a career in accounting.  On this website you can post your resume, research available jobs in accounting, and find other materials on accounting.  Businesses can use this website to search through the resumes in order to fill their open positions.  They can also post job openings and have people who are interested contact them.  This site is located at http://www.careers-in-accounting.com.

There are four main sections to this website.  The first one, ‘Thinking About an Accounting Career?,' gives basic information about a career in accounting, such as: Skills and Talents Required, Salaries for Accountants and Top Firms.  The next section, ‘Recommended Books on Jobs in Accounting’, has a list of books that will be helpful in searching for a job in accounting.  These books can also be used to help you land the job you want, by helping with the making of your resume, interviewing skills and the responsibilities of a CPA.  The third section consists of materials that can be used within the accounting field.  ‘Build Your Professional Bookshelf’, has books such as: “Accounting For Dummies,” “Financial Shenanigans: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks and Fraud in Financial Reports,” and “Wiley CPA Examination Review”.  These books can be used as teaching tools or to enhance your knowledge in the field of accounting.  ‘Other Career Sites,’ the fourth section, consists of links that can be used as additional reference in finding a career in accounting.  These sites are mostly used to post resumes, find jobs in a certain area and by businesses to review resumes.

To post a resume, a link in the fourth section may be clicked.  You may also use the link that is located at the top left hand side of the page.  Either under site info or the box stating careers-in-accounting.  By clicking on any of these links, you will be taken to page that will help you find the job you want.  Each page has its own set of instructions.  Many will ask where you want the job to be located and what type of job you are looking for.  After doing this, if any jobs are posted you will get a list.  When you click on any the featured jobs, you will get all the information you need about the job.  Such as: the qualifications, location of the offices and the type of position.  This page will also let you know whom to contact to find out more information, or to set up an interview.
