Pouting Inate, Not Learned

When my daughter was born she was not pleases when her lungs were be cleaned with a suction tube via her nose... she pouted.  I often have a knee-jerk reaction reaction to the nature/nurture debate, but recently good evidence is being found for innateness of some human traits.

Why is free bad?

Why do people, companies, (ahem) universities think paying for something is better than getting it for free? A bloggers discussion illustrates just how weird things can get when university libraries start 'owning' data...

Aborigonal Art

I have always found Australian Aboriginal art beautiful and anthropologically interesting.  There are a few excellent images and a discussion of Aboriginal art over at Material Culture.

First Post

The first post... something of a large step for me as I have been thinking of creating a blog for a few years, but decided that I never had enough time.  I have decided to make time.  So, instead of tweeting, posting links on del.icio.us, or remaining web-silent, I will be making my best attempt to post regularly.
