Jodi Ferner

Jodi Ferner earned her M.A. in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and has taught in the Honors Program since 1998. She is also the capstone project coordinator.

Jodi's areas of interest include: American literature and film, nature and society, travel and writing. These interests manifest themselves in courses such as Don't Fence Me In: The Myth and Reality of the Open Road, The Written World, and Uncommon Grounds: the World of Coffee.
 
Jodi is actively involved in student research and travel. Her research interests have taken her to Borneo, and she has traveled with students to Australia's eastern coast and Kenya. She has also led field trips as part of her coffee course to the Dominican Republic and Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico. In addition Jodi has sponsored several student panel presentations at the National Honors Collegiate Council meetings around the United States and mentored a number of Honors Capstone Projects.
