largest pepper plants

Report from NKU Honors Research Garden, South:

i just measured the pepper plants. considering that its may 21, normally we would have just planted the peppers in the last couple of weeks.

anyhow, yesterday i picked 8 banana peppers.

the pepper plants are getting huge. they will need to be staked soon.
how huge?
30.5 inches for the tallest (a marconi sweet italian pepper) , 27 for the shortest (banana).

the tomatoes are getting big and lush, but no flowers yet. i wonder if they've got too much nitrogen?

by the way, its hot here. 92 the high today. in the shade, with a breeze, its still pleasant enough.
believe it or not, mandeville louisiana isn't as humid in the day as ol' kentucky. at least, in may when it gets this warm. Daytime humidity seems to be under 60%, sometimes in the 40% range. At night, it gets into the 90% range though.
