We planted all of our seeds on Wednesday. Now, five days later, we've got quite a few sprouts. In the upper right box, most of our radish is up, and we've got a good number of beet sprouts and a few lettuce. In the zig zag, the cucumber seeds have all sprouted, and we have a few melon and one pumpkin. (After they get their second leaves, are we going to thin down to one plant each--or two for the cucumber?) In the bean/pea section, the Shaker beans have outstripped all the others, with most of them sprouted, followed by the Kentucky Wonders, where we have a few up. All of the transplants look healthy, though one of the tomato varieties (I forget which one now--the really tall ones) look a little yellow.
Today I'll water everything with the hose, and I'm weeding out the flower patch where the "painted daisies" are (I think they're actually a blanket flower varietal, but we've gotten used to calling them that). Those seedlings are the furthest along, so I'll try to have the plot ready for the new transplants by the end of the week.
