The Honors Program offers a wide range of courses in conjunction with many departments and colleges across campus.  These courses have their own departmental designation but are honors sections with the same enrollment of 15 students and focus on discussion as regular Honors courses.

Why we're here

Through five interrelated areas of student involvement, the Honors Program provides highly qualified students with seminars that emphasize discussion, the discovery of ideas and project-oriented learning.

Honors offers not only the intellectual challenges of interdisciplinary education and the intensification of disciplinary studies but also the opportunities to pursue individual research projects under faculty guidance and the option of a living-learning Honors community.

Among the benefits:

  • The Honors minor (21 credits including a six-credit capstone project or thesis).
  • Honors partnerships with colleges and embedded honors majors (simultaneous major and Honors courses).
  • Honors sections of general education and other disciplinary courses.
  • The Honors House and co-curricular activities (including international study and scholarships).
  • The Honors Wing of Callahan Hall (Honors residential wing with in-house courses).
