History Day Speakers
Background information on the speakers for the 16th annual Northern Kentucky Regional History Day on Saturday, April 4 at Northern Kentucky University.

John Boh holds a B.A. in History from Villa Madonna College (now Thomas More College) and a M.A. in History from the University of Cincinnati. He is a charter member and the current secretary of the Kenton County Historical Society, and secretary for the Board of Trustees at the Behringer Crawford Museum.

James Duvall is a Local History Researcher at the Boone County Public Library. He holds a B.A. from Lexington Baptist College (1980), a M.A. in History from Austin Peay State University (1988) and a M.A. in Bible & Ancient Languages from Hebrew Union College (2000).

Anthony W. Frohlich is the Chief Circuit Judge for Kentucky's 54th Judicial Circuit. He graduated first in his class from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1980. Among his awards was the Outstanding Student in History of Anglo-American Law. He graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 1976 where he was presented with the outstanding student in history award. In 2008, the Boone County Historical Preservation Board awarded him the Anne Fitzgerald Award for his lifetime work in local history.

Shirlene L. Jensen is the Director of the LDS Family History Center, and a board member of the Campbell County Historical & Genealogical Society.

Karl J. Lietzenmayer holds degrees in chemistry and history from Thomas More College and Xavier University. He has served as the senior editor of Northern Kentucky Heritage magazine for sixteen years. He is also on the board of the Kenton County Historical Society.

Jan Mueller is a member of the Kentucky History Department at the Kenton County Public Library. She holds a B.A. in English from Northern Kentucky University and will obtain her Masters in Library Science form the University of Kentucky in December 2009.

Sr. Joan Terese Niklas, S.N.D. is the Archivist for the Covington Province of Sisters of Notre Dame, a member of the Northern Kentucky Historical Society and a member of the Tri-State Catholic Archivists.

Kristina Redmond is a full-time student at Northern Kentucky University and one of the authors for the "Voices of Covington" online cultural heritage tour.

Don Rightmyer is the editor of the Kentucky Historical Society's genealogical quarterly Kentucky Ancestors. He is also a frequent speaker on the Civil War and Kentucky history.

John Schlipp is an Assistant Professor Librarian at NKU. He has spoken and published on a variety of topics including regional media and music history, as well as intellectual property related to academic and community awareness.

Kaira Simmons is one of the authors for the "Voices of Covington" online cultural heritage tour.

Paul Tenkotte is Professor and Chair of History, International Studies, and Political Science at Thomas More College. He and Dr. James Claypool are Editors-in-Chief of the forthcoming Encyclopedia of Northern Kentucky from the University Press of Kentucky. Within the past two years, Tenkotte has worked on four historical documentaries for public television, including "Where the River Bends," the winner of two regional Emmy Awards.

Robert Webster is a local historian and author whose recent books, "Northern Kentucky Fires" and "The Balcony is Closed," won state awards from the Kentucky Historical Society. Webster is a frequent contributor of articles to Northern Kentucky Heritage magazine and the Kenton County Historical Society Bulletin.

Maridith Yahl holds a B.A. in Psychology from Northern Kentucky University (2000), and is currently a M.A. student in NKU's Integrative Studies program studying the Holocaust through English and History. She has plans to find work in a museum following graduation.
