Master of Arts in Public History
NKU will begin offering a Master of Arts in Public History in January of 2010.
The graduate degree will require 30 hours in history content and methodology courses and a six-hour sequence in one of four areas: world language, informatics, geographic information systems or nonprofit management.

Students DO NOT have to take the GRE to be admitted to the MAPH program.
The requirements for admission do include:

Bachelor's degree in history or related field from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate work.

Two letters of reference from persons qualified to evaluate your potential for successful performance in the graduate program. A recommendation form that must accompany each letter is available on the Graduate Programs website.

A letter of intent between 500 and 1000 words that describes any relevant educational background, experience and skills and that also explains your interest in public history. The letter of intent will help us judge whether the MAPH program is appropriate to your needs.
