His 310: Colonial America to 1763
Course Description: This course outlines
the modifications in North America of the Old World legacy of institutions,
ideas, and practices using both primary and secondary sources. In other words,
the course covers the evolution of English colonial politics, economics, demography,
society, and culture during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in North
America.
Course Requirements: Attendance at
lectures and films and informed participation in class discussions are mandatory
(20% of your final grade). Students take two exams (40%) and submit two papers
(40%).
