Student Organizations

The History & Geography Department strongly supports our very active ~Alpha Beta Phi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the international history honor society. The chapter has won numerous best chapter awards, as well as awards for its fine journal, ~Perspectives in History. For more information about this organization please visit its home page.

Geography majors are encouraged to join the Geography Union of Northern Kentucky (GUNK), a student organization open to all with an interest in geography. The activities of GUNK have mainly involved field trips, either day-long trips, usually on Saturdays, or longer trips on weekends or at the end of the semester. In recent years the group has traveled to such places as St. Louis, Toronto, and Atlanta.
