Dr. (Mrs.) Tripta Desai was born in India and has been in this country for almost forty years.

Education: B.A. and M.A - University of Delhi, India. Ph.D. - Washington State University and the University of Indore (India).

Teaching: - Since 1997 with Northen Kentucky Universtiy. Various courses taught -

  3. Early and Medieval British History
  4. Modern British History
  5. The first part of West European History
  6. The second part of West European History
  7. Modern Russia
  8. India, Third World Modernization
  9. First half of the U.S. history

Research: Following books ar her research activity.

  1. A. Indo-American Diplomatic Relations, 1940 - 1974 Published in 1975.
    B. The book is updated in 2003 to include a chapter on India-USA relationship in the 1980's and 1990's to fight terrorism an on epilogue describing the growing economic ties betwen India and the USA since India's liberalization (economic) in the 1990's.
  2. A. Women in India, first published in 1992.
    B. Book has been updated through 1990's and is awaiting publication.
  3. The East India Company, 1599-1857, published in 1985.

Community Service: Member of the Hindu Society of Greater Cincinnati. Hinduism lies at the core of the hisottry of India and is still a vital link in the Indian villages which contain almost 80% of the curent Indian population of a billion.

Academic Development: Frequent travels to India which brings me the updated grass root information and to visit the NGO's (Non-Governmental Organizations) and the research centers. Travelled to England and Eurpoe to learn more.
