Prime for Life Risk Reduction Program
- "Prime for Life on Campus" is a risk reduction program developed by Terry O'Bryan and Ray Daugherty. The first goal of the program is to help individuals reduce the risk for any type of alcohol or drug problem by using the Five Steps to Risk Reduction.
- The second goal focuses on self-assessment to help people who are making high-risk choices understand and accept the need to make changes, either in their lifestyles or in the choices they make, to avoid future problems.
- Prime For Life is based on objective research from many fields and is designed with respect for thousands of people who attend this program each year. It does not moralize or dictate. (The Prevention Institute, 1999).
This program is available to NKU students through the efforts of Health, Counseling and Prevention Services and NorthKey Community Care Regional Prevention Center of Northern Kentucky.
