The current Video On Demand IPTV Viewer installation software is located on the IT network drive of itserv1 > Learning Systems Folder > VOD Folder > IPTV Viewer 5.2.5.3
The first time IP/TV Viewer is used on a machine under any given username login, it will need to have an initial setup done. When you try to open the IP/TV Viewer icon on the computer's desktop, you will first see an "IP/TV" window that may say “Welcome to IP/TV”, or a window that says “You currently have no program managers defined”, or some other wording indicating that some initial settings need to be made. In any case, click on OK.
The “Options” window will open. In this window, click on the “Program Managers” tab, then click on “Add Program Manager”. (note: Older versions of this software use the term "Content Manager" instead of "Program Manager". They are the same thing.)
The “Primary Manager Settings” window will open. Under “Primary Server”, in the “Name” field, enter “172.20.40.15”, then click OK.
Back in the “Options” window, also click OK.
The IPTV Viewer in now ready to use!
If an older version of IPTV viewer has been installed on the computer, it will first need to be removed, using the add/remove programs from the control panel. After the old version has been removed, the new version may be installed. In this situation, after you have completed the installation of the new viewer, open the viewer, click on the settings menu, then select program managers. On the window that this will open, make sure the program managers tab is selected. There should only be one program manager shown, 172.20.40.15 . If either iptv.nku.edu or 172.20.40.10 are shown, either remove or edit as appropriate. Then click OK to save changes.
