Dear Members and Friends of the IFS Community:
It is with great pleasure that I welcome the inaugural edition of The Freedom Chronicle that is being published under the auspices of the Institute for Freedom Studies at Northern Kentucky University. We at NKU are proud to support a new publication that examines notions of freedom as they are presently confronting our nation and the global community. In a way, we are all asking, "what price freedom?"
I believe that at this time in our nation's social and political history, there exists a strong call for the voices of scholars in the public arena. Even further, with this type of electronic publication which has the potential to reach individuals not only within the U.S. academic community, but throughout the world, those notions associated with freedom and civil liberties in the context of an intellectually stimulated academic discourse can potentially set a new standard for raising the public's awareness regarding these issues as they confront our society in the 21st Century.
I, along with the rest of the NKU community, look forward with great anticipation to receiving the inaugural edition of The Freedom Chronicle. Further, I congratulate the Institute for Freedom Studies on its very forward, progressive, and unprecedented leap into the world of public discourse by introducing this academic publication.
May you have great success,
James C. Votruba
President
