| Dow Jones Transportation Index (Updated 08/27/2012 09:31 AM )MGT 307 Many managers follow the Dow Jones Transportation Index. The index was created by Charles Dow in 1884 and was originally known as the Dow Jones Railroad Average. Today, few know the companies that actually make up the index. Write me a one page memo that lists the component companies and the prevailing transportation mode they engage in (i.e., carrier or logistics broker). If they are a carrier, what is their primary mode of carry (i.e., truck, train, boat, plane, pipeline)? Use a table to house your info. Also, remember to cite your sources.
