education in the classroom, the Air & Waste Management
Association (A&WMA) is offering its Environmental Education
Resource Guides and other learning tools to K-12 classrooms.
A&WMA also announces its Second Annual High School Essay
Contest, "Greenhouse Gas Management Actions: What Can
Students Do?" "As an association of environmental professionals, we
understand that the future of the environment lies in the
hands of the next generation," said Adrianne Carolla, A&WMA
Executive Director. "These classroom tools are full of
information and activities that provide students with a base
of environmental knowledge, and we hope that they serve to
inspire the younger generation to remain actively involved
with environmental issues." Each Environmental Education Resource Guide includes
approximately 15 lessons with clearly stated educational

The series is designed to develop critical thinking skills,

Kentuckians who have made outstanding contributions to
protecting the environment. To nominate a person,
company, teacher, student, government official, or any
other group for an EQC 2004 Earth Day award, use the nomination page on the website above, or send
your name, address, phone number, and a one page summary
describing their effort to EQC by March 20th, 2004.
The name and phone number of the person making the
nomination should also be included.
