Waterific 2003:
Students and faculty
representing the Center for Environmental Education
and ECOS helped the Sanitation District No. 1 to
recognize Earth Day by participating in its
WaterIfic Program on April 16, 2003.
Cecilia Baker (Education), Sarah Kleier (Finance),
Queda Davolt (Education), and Dr. Yvonne Meichtry
(Education), prepared and taught an interactive
lesson about water resources to a total of 356
sixth-grade students throughout the day.
Dr. Meichtry said, "Our students did a terrific job
of teaching about water quality and of motivating the
sixth graders to be good stewards of our water
resources. It was an excellent experience for
the NKU students to be a part of a team of Northern
Kentucky agencies that are working to protect our
water resources."
