KY Centers for
Environmental Education ----- Capacity-Building -----
KUPEE
Teachers, university faculty, non-formal
educators, and directors/staff of the Centers for Environ-mental
Education at the 8 state universities convened for a weekend of
training at Land Between the Lakes on May 21-23, 2004. The
purpose of this workshop was to build capacity and support to
accomplish the goals of the Centers for Environmental Education in
each region.
The featured presenter was
Joseph Cornell, noted author of
Sharing Nature with Children II. Mr. Cornell led
participants through experientially-based activities based on an
approach to teaching about nature called "flow learning" which he
developed. The workshop participants were also trained to be
facilitators of Project Learning Tree and Food, Land and People.
